Share Community is a registered charity in Clapham Junction providing support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and other support needs. Alongside other initiatives Share runs a creative learning programme using a range of art forms. Students learn about classical and modern artists, gaining an awareness of different brush strokes, styles and colour palettes. Exploring digital art helps develop unique pattern and print design. Students also employ their creative skills in textile design, making bags using sewing machines and hand painting their own designs onto a variety of fabrics. Share focuses on freedom of expression and incorporates sensory art sessions to build confidence, increase mobility and improve wellbeing. Share continues to grow its art and wellbeing programme and has recently adapted to coronavirus restrictions by running arts sessions outdoors at the Share garden site in Tooting, allowing students to explore the therapeutic benefits of art and nature.
