Biography / Artist statement
Maddy Gyselynck (pronounced ‘Giza-link’) is an artist from London. She is inspired by many great artists of the past, including Caravaggio, Turner, Constable, Boudin, Lawrence, De Laszlo, and Sargent. Her primary media are oil paintings and charcoal and pencil drawings, however some of her more experimental works mix media and styles. She's also increasingly working in 3 dimensions with clay and painting landscapes ‘en plein air’ in the parks of South West London. In 2020 she left her career in financial services in order to pursue art full time and is currently studying and teaching courses at London Fine Art Studios in Battersea - where she also holds the De Laszlo Foundation Scholarship - around her own projects.
