Charlie Reed
Biography / Artist statement
Charlie Reed is an artist who is inspired by the changing environment of the local urban landscape. He is a painter and printmaker. He explores the relationship between the cyclical natural world and the expanding and shifting topography of the city.
The River Wandle, and its surrounding area, is a particular source of inspiration. Charlie often draws and paints ‘en plein air’, recording observations and moments within his sketchbook. These studies made in the landscape inspire oil paintings and prints created back in the studio.
