Biography / Artist statement

Richard Fitchett is a playwright based in Tooting who has received 5 star reviews and been commended for an Offie for his work. He tried out work as part of the Wandsworth Arts Festival in 2019 that was later produced in Clapham. He is currently working on a novel and plays that he hopes to get staged when life returns to a more normal time. He has, during the Covid lock-down, had work produced on Podcasts and Zoom performances by the Dramatist Guild of America and an event geared towards financially supporting Shakespeare's Globe. He was planning a short film and a longer run of his 5 star hit last year when the world ground to a halt in March.

Why do you love Wandsworth?

I have lived here a long time and I do love the fact that it actually puts money into arts. It is also a good place to live.
