Biography / Artist statement

Mandana Khonsari is an award-winning painter and etcher based in Putney. Since 2004, she has based her work in a studio in Wandsworth that she shares with a number of fellow artists.

Mandana describe herself as a contemporary, semi-abstract artist who enjoys strong colours that capture the essence of the beauty nature has to offer. Her aim is to provoke desire for you to be in places you have never been to, or strike up recollections of places you have been before. Her work is designed to challenge your perception of the real world.

Mandana had her first solo exhibition in 2002. Since then she has exhibited widely, including Mall Galleries and The Chelsea Art Society Annual Open Exhibition.

Mandana’s 2014 award-winning painting is owned by The Royal Marsden Hospital and is on display in the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton.
