My current work is inspired by my love of nature and plants, which I capture in vibrant colours and bold, graphic shapes. Drawing on my background in graphic design, I transform my own photographs into stylised images using oil painting and screen-printing as mediums. I believe art can play an important role in raising awareness of the need to protect the environment. My prints and screen-printing work are printed on vegan, environmentally friendly and sustainable paper. Once I select a photograph to work from, I begin the process of translating it onto canvas or paper. Digitally manipulating my own photographs, considering each colour, texture, and shape working to create a composition that captures the essence of the subject. With my current series of oil paintings I worked to combine a vivid and expressive use of colour with a graphic depiction of tropical exotic leaves. With my prints and screen-printing work I create bold, graphic images with clean texture and sharp contrast. I am passionate about my work and love the process of creating art. For me, painting and screen-printing are a way to connect with the world around me and to share my vision with others. I am excited to continue exploring new techniques and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with oil paint and screen-printing.
