Biography / Artist statement

Errika is an Italian artist who now lives and works in London. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. Errika has showcased her work throughout Italy, including two solo exhibitions, and she currently shows in galleries across Italy.

Errika works mainly with oil on canvas, while introducing elements of collage into each piece. Currently, Errika is creating works with lively colour palettes and loose brushwork. This technique brings a childlike joy and effortlessness to her pieces, allowing the viewer to connect with emotions of whimsy and freedom. Errika, herself, focuses her research and her practice on emotions she feels while painting, rather than objects alone.

On first look one may consider her works to be a still life, with a classical depiction of fruit in a bowl; however, Errika intends for pieces to “represent life as a table, where everyone can realise themselves in endless combinations between potential and opportunities."

Why do you love Wandsworth?
