Artisan silversmith, creating unique silver jewellery using a variety of techniques and semi-precious stones, including the traditional skill of Punto Peruano.
Taking her inspiration from her native Peru and her travels through Europe and from the nature around her, Gilda creates unique jewellery using the following techniques:
Punto Peruano - an intricate knitting technique using pure silverwire, inter-weaving with semi-precious stones to create one off pieces.
Kuem Boo - an ancient Korean gilding technique used to apply thin sheets of gold to silver, Gilda has just started creating new pieces in this style.
She also creates pieces by hammering, forging and casting. Gilda uses 925 sterling silver and for her Punto Peruano pieces she uses 99.9 fine silver wire. She also uses semi-precious stones, glass beads and Swarovski crystals.
Larger pieces can be hallmarked. Gilda is happy to take commissions.
