Annie Dashwood is an artist, illustrator and art therapist. Her abstract paintings utilise the soft quality of oil paints, which allow a subtle layering and blending of colour to create a range of gentle tones and textures. This subtlety of colour is also found in her illustration work and is inspired by the gentle tones and textures present throughout nature.

Whilst Annie’s earlier training as an illustrator helped her develop her technical art-making skills, her later training as an art therapist led her to value the freedom that can be found through a spontaneous, expressive and experimental method of art-making. With this combination of approaches, she aims to create refined artwork that also retains some of its raw vitality.

Throughout the art-making process, she hopes to find an inner connection with her own instinctive creativity and imagination, as well as finding an outer connection with the viewer through the finished artwork.
